Today, I am wishing my mom a very happy birthday. I am so very glad that she was born and for all that she has done for me. We are celebrating tonight at our house with Nordstom cookbooks' recipe of chicken tortilla soup (yum!) and homemade salsa. Oh and of course, birthday cake.
To me, life is only worth living because I serve a G-d who is gracious and holy, because my husband is a brilliant man who is "the butter to my bread and the breath to my life", because food is art and a masterpiece on my plate, because fabric is beautiful, colorful, hypnotic and can be wrapped around my body, draped over a window and cover scrumptious furniture, because there are places where the air is fresh and crisp, the grass is soft, the trees are overflowing and green and flowers bloom in all sorts of lovely ways.. and I plan on spending all my days touching, tasting, feeling, meditating, praying and breathing in every single one of them.
“These older women must train the younger women to love their
husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of G-d.” Titus 2:4-5
